Our story
Your local car guys since 1929.
Geetano Pappalardo opened the shop in 1929. His son, John Sr., took it over, and today brothers John Jr. and Joe run it together. Same family, same corner of Fort Lee, almost a hundred years later.
Both brothers are ASE-certified with more than 30 years under the hood. You'll deal with them directly, not a call center. It's the independent alternative to the dealer: the same know-how and repair data, with a lot more personal attention.

Do you do NJ state inspections?
Yes. We do NJ state inspections and out-of-state inspections by appointment. We're also a licensed NJ Emission Repair and Reinspection Station, so if your car fails, we can fix it and re-inspect it here.
My car broke down near the GW Bridge. Can you help?
Yes. We're about two minutes from the bridge and AAA tows stranded drivers to us often. Call (201) 224-8444 and we'll tell you what to do.
Will coming here instead of the dealer void my warranty?
No. You can have your car serviced at an independent shop without voiding your new-car warranty. We follow your manufacturer's maintenance schedule and keep records of every visit.
Do AAA members get a discount?
Yes. We're a AAA Approved Auto Repair facility. AAA members get 10% off labor, up to $75. Show your card when you drop off.
Is your work guaranteed?
Yes. Qualifying repairs are covered by a nationwide warranty that's honored at thousands of shops across the US and Canada, so you're covered even on a road trip.
Can I wait while my car is worked on?
Yes. For shorter jobs like oil changes, inspections and flat repairs, you're welcome to wait. Waiting appointments are 8 to 9 AM. We have a waiting area with coffee and clean restrooms.
Do you work on European cars and Teslas?
Yes. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo and Tesla, plus every Asian and American make. We've even restored a 1980 Corvette.
